During this photography tour to Greenland, we zoom in on the world’s largest island. Get ready to be blinded by the ice sheet that covers 80% of the country. This is pure, unspoiled wilderness, where a brave Inuit population of less than 60.000 lives in isolated settlements. They travel by boat or sledge and live mainly from hunting and fishing.

Along the west coast of Greenland, pristine fjords and desolate hills form a unique labyrinth. Everywhere you look, the ice is moving. Gigantic glaciers are formed and the meltwater from majestic icebergs flows into the ocean. During this photography tour, we experience the vast landscape of Greenland and capture it on film. In the tundra, we hope to see arctic wildlife such as muskox, caribou, arctic hare and arctic fox. Boat trips allow us to spot whales, seals and perhaps even the mythical narwhal from a privileged position.

As you know, I have an extensive experience in arctic waters. For this trip, I team up with landscape photographer Bart Heirweg. As a result, you’ll get to see the most beautiful fjords and most spectacular glaciers West Greenland has to offer. The trip combines a solid photography workshop with an amazing photography tour, with personal guidance from beginning to end. Here’s an overview of the planned activities:

– whale safaris
– 4 iceberg safaris after dinner (to get the best light)
– Illimanaq boat tour and hike
– drone initiation
– a walk to town for some local portraits
– 2 photography hikes
– photo discussions and photo editing sessions

Sufficient rest is provided during the mornings.

After our daily winter adventures, we return to a very comfortable hotel every day. You’ll enjoy hearty meals, a good and sturdy bed, a private bathroom and a warm atmosphere. You’ll enjoy the wilderness of Greenland, the impressive icebergs and the company of a small group of like-minded people. The perfect recipe for the most pleasant photography tour currently organized to this destination! Are you ready to join us?

This trip is perfect for lovers of nordic photography. Every day brings sea air to your lungs, icy landscapes and desolate mountain valleys as far as the eye can see. You’ll climb unknown mountain peaks and float in a boat between icebergs and glaciers.
Are you fascinated by arctic nature and passionate about photography? Then get ready for this unforgettable adventure!

Despite the high latitude, the climate can be very pleasant here during spring. But it remains cold according to European standards. So be sure to protect yourself against the cold and the wind. We’ll be photographing outside for extended periods of time.

The guides are very experienced men with a passion for arctic landscapes and photography. They’ll be sure to lift your photography to the next level.

We’ll provide you with extensive information about climate, clothing and gear before departure.

During this land-based photo tour, we stay at the Ilulissat settlement. Our comfortable hotel has private bathrooms. Meals are enjoyed at the hotel or as a packed lunch during excursions.

Local transport is by chartered boats or on foot when staying close to the village. The trip includes a flight for aerial photography of the icebergs.

We’ll make stunning images of icebergs, landscapes, glaciers and a touch of local wildlife and culture during numerous excursions.

International flights are not included in the price. When departure is guaranteed, you will receive a non-binding flight proposal. The estimated price for a two-way flight is 1400 to 1700 euros. But feel free to book your own flights.
