After arrival, we spend a first afternoon in the field and head back for dinner at Churchill and a first evening in the guest house.
Polar bear photography with Marco Ronconi: learn from the best every day, and discuss your results during insightful evening evaluations, where you’ll learn more about photography techniques and storytelling.
After breakfast, we check out and return to the airport for our flight back from Churchill to Winnipeg.

ARCTIC ATMOSPHERE
Churchill is a town in northern Manitoba known as a capital for spotting polar bears. It’s a beautiful small town with only 700 inhabitants, which can only be reached by plane or after a very long train ride. Desolate as it is, Churchill has all the necessary facilities. It’s famous for spotting polar bears in autumn, belugas in the summer, and northern lights in spring.
ONLY 3 WEEKS EVERY YEAR
In Churchill, you can see polar bears in the snow for only 3 weeks a year – from the middle of October to the beginning of November. This town is on the migration route of the bears as they travel towards the frozen tundra. The bears head for seal hunting west of Hudson Bay as soon as the ice comes. Arctic foxes are everywhere, and sometimes you can spot wolves. Gulls, owls, and even eagles can be spotted by keen observers.

ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORT
Our comfortable and specially-equipped private 13-seater van offers unparalleled advantages for wildlife photographers: lots of room to store the equipment and a very low position for unique angles and perspectives. Moving in a perimeter of about 25 km around Churchill, we also venture out in the field for more exceptional photo opportunities.
Our b&b is very cozy and owned by locals; we rent it exclusively for our group.
