Schedule
We will depart together on a rental bus to the Camargue. We will stay overnight in a cozy and comfortable restaurant-hotel in Serrieres.
For six full days, we will photograph wildlife in the Camargue. We will search for herons, shorebirds, bee-eaters, grebes, and more. We will be in the right place at the right time (before and after sunset!) to capture the best images.
We will have one last photography session, and the program will end at 10 AM. Then, we head home with a stop at a comfortable restaurant-hotel in Chaumont. We arrive back home on the 7th.
Partnership
In cooperation with Starling ToursBEAUTIFUL LIGHT
We will experience unforgettable sunrises, sunsets, and exceptional biodiversity in and on the water. We will explore the marshes and ponds, learning how to capture everything that lives there in the most interesting way possible. Under my guidance, you are guaranteed to get the most out of your photography skills.
EXCEPTIONAL BIODIVERSITY
During this hide photography trip, we will seek maximum diversity. We aim for a beautiful variety of waders in full summer plumage. The cherry on top will be the collared pratincole! Various types of ducks, herons, gulls, and other waterbirds will also be featured. And as if that weren’t enough, we also have a good chance of spotting interesting mammals along the water’s edge… Who knows, maybe a special one will appear right before your lens?
PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
The walking is easy, and the workshop is accessible to photographers of all levels. We cater to advanced photographers who want to refine their technique and beginners looking to develop their passion and seek guidance in mastering the technical and compositional aspects of bird photography.
A digital SLR camera, tripod, wide-angle, and telephoto zoom lens are helpful. The animals are relatively close, so a 100–200 mm lens will go a long way. A low-angle lens is great for photographing wildlife.
Bring the computer and peripherals that you find useful.
CLIMATE AND CLOTHING
The weather during this time of year is generally good. However, it can be pretty windy on the rocks, making it cold. Therefore, appropriate clothing for various weather conditions is recommended.
Remember your waders for the water. A cloth to lie on and a camouflage net are also handy. You will receive a detailed info sheet before departure.
ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORT
Our base will be a gîte in the Camargue. The accommodation is typical of the region, and the meals are delicious and well-catered. We ensure that you won’t miss anything! However, you will need to bring your own linens.
We will travel in a van from our location to the Camargue. These trips are included in the price. We choose to break outbound and return journeys with an overnight stay. This way, we can make the most of our first and last days for hide photography. Along the way, I might pull another great photoshoot out of my hat.
