Schedule
We fly to Trondheim airport and travel on to Lauvsnes. We check into our guesthouse, where we will stay for the next few days. Flights are not included in the price. The program below is indicative and depends on weather conditions.
Those who wish can take a seat in a bird hide. This hide is relatively new, so we count on you for results! But one thing is certain: the hide is excellent, and the species will surprise you. The forest hide is available for the entire week so you can use it at your leisure.
We will capture the white-tailed eagles and many other birds and animals from the boat. This workshop will delve deeper into photographing birds in flight (settings, composition, creativity, etc). We will be guided by an expert in the field and one of Norway’s most well-known nature photography guides.
In addition to boat trips and a bird hide, we will also go on an elch (European moose) safari. We will try to find these majestic animals in a setting with an autumn atmosphere. We will also focus on the beautiful fjords and landscapes during our trips. And who knows, we might be lucky enough to enjoy the magical Northern Lights …
Unfortunately, the trip is over. We will drive back to the airport and fly home. Flights are not included in the price.

UNMATCHED FAUNA AND FLORA
Along the coast of Flatanger, the star of the show is, of course, the white-tailed sea eagle! Because we are by the coast, we can also expect migratory birds, along with various local gull species, a few harbour porpoises, and perhaps even an otter.
Moose are also very common in this area. We will head out several times to find them. In the forests, we can expect black grouse, hazel grouse, golden eagle, western capercaillie, and many small birds such as Eurasian bullfinch and tits. We also have access to a forest hide, where we can photograph several species of small birds and red squirrels. With some luck, we might even spot a pine marten.
NATURE EXPERIENCE AND PHOTOGRAPHY
In Lauvsnes, we will take boat trips lasting 2 to 4 hours to find sea eagles and moose. Weather permitting, we will go out on the water every day. We also have unlimited access to a forest hide for three photographers.
We will also climb the hill next to our guesthouse to (hopefully!) spot the Northern Lights.
I will not be guiding this trip alone. Local guide and photographer Ole Martin Dahle will also be there. This renowned team ensures that everything is perfectly organised. Every day will be a productive one, so be sure to bring plenty of memory cards.
CLIMATE AND CLOTHING
The average temperature in Flatanger will be between 13 and 18 degrees Celsius. Prioritise a simple 3-layer system to manage rapid weather changes (sun, wind, rain) while staying comfortable. Key items include a Merino wool base layer, a light insulated mid-layer, and a waterproof shell, avoiding cotton entirely to stay dry and warm.
ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORT
We will stay in a cosy and comfortable guesthouse and a nearby apartment. Everyone will have a single room, which is included in the price. A minibus will provide on-site transport.
We fly to Trondheim from an airport of your choice. You can book your flights through us or arrange them yourself. We will contact all participants upon guaranteed departure to present the different flight options. For the flights, you can expect prices between 400 and 700 euros.
